Quick, Easy: 6 Cards

Quick, Easy: 6 Cards ~ Kim's Handcrafted Cards

Hey Crafties! Happy Sunday! Today’s post is more of a showcase of 6 cards I made last night. I’ve been working on getting my mojo back for crafting for fun. I pulled out a bunch of stuff on my craft table determine to make a card. It felt like I had forgotten everything I learned in the last 3 years!

Anyway, I said a prayer to God to help come up with designs. I ended up using everything I pulled out on my table and I love how each card turned out. This post won’t go into how I made each card because most of these elements were done and I was just saving them.

I used up a lot of pattern papers, ephemera, foil sentiments but did a LOT of die cutting and added some colored critters I did awhile ago. It was fun to finally get to use them. I’ll talk a little more about that below.

These two cards uses pattern papers from Dress my Crafts Magnolias and other papers from my stash, the gold sentiment strips are from Pinkfresh Studio and the borders are from Spellbinders dies and Pinkfresh Studio. The arches are from Ellen Hutson. The ephemera is from Paper Rose Studio. And if you want to see other cards and gift boxes made from the “Dress my Craft Magnolias” pattern papers, click here and here.

For this showcase of cards, I chose encouraging, affirmative sentiments. Sometimes we need that positive reinforcement. The card on the right dons a colored Hibiscus flower from Simon Says Stamp. I used Copic markers to color that.

All these cards has some embossing too. I used a couple of embossing folders from Cuttlebug that I’ve had for years. Embossing folders are my go-to for creating backgrounds or card panels.

These last two cards are probably my favorite! Both images are digital stamps that I purchased and downloaded from Lee Holland’s Etsy Shop (link to purchase below). I also purchased a digital fox image from Whimsy Stamps. Check out this post to see how I got started coloring these digital images. I just love these critters so much! I also fussy cut them 😀

What started out as a stressful moment trying to decide what to make turned out to be a thrilling night of just crafting for the fun of it. Using a few dies and embellishments I already had made these cards come together a lot faster and easy.
