Pretty Pattern Paper Cards with Paper Rose Butterfly Garden Collection

Pretty Pattern Paper Cards with Paper Rose Butterfly Garden Collection

If you’ve been following me for awhile, then you know how much I love pretty pattern papers for my cards. And, I really love vintage, shabby chic or farmhouse designs and so when I saw the “Butterfly Garden” paper pack collection from Paper Rose, I knew right away that I wanted it!

I do like to layer up pre-die cuts and use ephemera to dress up pattern papers but I also love to add other embellishments like stamping, ink blending and die cutting stamped images and I did all this with the cards I’m sharing today.

Paper Rose has some of the most beautiful patterns and I’ve used other collections before. Click this link to see other cards and tags that I’ve used from their papers!

I’m always in need of thank you cards and these sentiments came with the Butterfly Garden Cardmaking Kit. It includes not only the pattern papers, but pre-die cut images of butterflies, basket, flowers, hearts and sentiments! It comes in a cute little pouch so I can keep all my extras and scraps together too.

The card above, I took one of the pattern papers and adhered it to my card base. I took another 2 sheets of pattern papers and used Simon Says Stamp “Chunky Scallop” die set (the 2nd largest) to layer on top. Then I added the basket, flowers and butterfly with the Thank you sentiment. Lastly, I added jute and this card was done!

For this card, after adding my scallop piece, I added flowers, the hat, the Thanks sentiment and some jute!

Bonus Cards

For my bonus cards, I did a lot more embellishing. For the card on the left, I decided to use Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers Rose Die. I hadn’t had a chance to use it since I was first sick. I did minimal ink blending to my flower using Simon’s Pawsitively Saturated Inks in “Lemonade” and “Celery”. I then trimmed down some pattern paper for a sort of border for my flower to lay over.

I then added the butterfly, “Love” sentiment and jute to finish the card. For my card on the right, I started with one of my Boho Abstract Backgrounds using direct ink to paper with Distress inks and I stamped Simon’s “LOVE IS” cling stamp taken from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 on top using Simon’s “Fog” ink. I trimmed down some pattern paper to make a banner. Then, I topped the card with flowers, a large butterfly, the Happy Birthday sentiment and tied some jute lastly.

These cards were fun to make, I love having my craft table covered in beautiful pattern papers, die cuts, and other embellishments. It just jump starts my creativity! And I have more left to share of this collection + I also purchased Paper Rose’s “Butterfly Bliss” 6 x 6 paper pack so I’ll be making cards with that very soon! Stay tuned.
