Watercolor Blue Bouquet with Spellbinders BetterPress System

Watercolor Blue Bouquet with Spellbinders Betterpress System

Hello my friends! Happy Saturday! I am overly excited for today’s card. If you’ve followed me awhile, then you probably know that I love watercolor but am awful at it! LOL! I have to admire it through other crafters, but Spellbinders BetterPress System is changing that for me!

I bought the system and used the plate that comes with it and you can see my post on my first time using it here. Well, I knew from that card that I wanted to get more plates so I purchased the “Pressed Bouquet” and the “Always and Forever” sentiments plate. And guess what?? I bought 2 more plates yesterday that’ll arrive next week! 😀

This bouquet plate is so beautiful! I inked with the black ink and used my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and Altenew’s Waterbrush to do all my watercoloring. The Zig markers are so vibrant and bright and it is so fun coloring with them with this system. In fact, it’s easier for me to stay within the lines, makes me feel like a real artist! The results you get with using this letterpress system is incredible!

The colors I used are: Persian Blue, Cobalt Blue, Yellow, Green and I used Black too. And as I was coloring with the blues together, they created a new color: violet; same thing with the green leaves; a cyan color appeared. So cool! I let this air dry and worked on my cardbase.

this BetterPress is an absolute game changer

I adore archways so for my card panel, I die cut the arch on 2 sheets of cardstock using “Essential Arches” by Essentials by Ellen. I added double-sided foam tape behind the panel to produce dimension.

I used the BetterPress tool again for my sentiment and this plate comes with the die. It has a bunch of sentiments and the die cuts them all out at once so I have many more to add to future cards. After my bouquet piece was fully dried, I adhered it on top of my cardbase and then adhered my arch card panel over that. I topped it off with the sentiment and this beautiful card was born!

There’s no way I can get this crisp of an image and sentiment by stamping and coloring so for me, a person who struggles with and doesn’t enjoy coloring very much, this BetterPress is an absolute game changer!
