Pinkfresh Studio: Daisy Wreath – 2 Colors

Pinkfresh Studio: Daisy Wreath - 2 Colors

Hi Crafty friends! Last night I was playing with cards with all products from Pinkfresh Studio. They are one of my favorite crafty companies and I love their bundles of stencils/dies, washi tape/stamp/dies and of course their inks. I use their inks a lot in my cardmaking because they come in sets of 4 which makes ink blending so easy and fun.

So for my 2 cards today, I’m again using their Daisy Wreath stencil and die set. I love this stencil and used it here and here. I chose blue and a purple colors for my wreaths.

Now, before I get in this post, I made a mistake on one of the cards! As Norris (Charles D. Brown) said to Phil Marlow (Humphrey Bogart) in “The Big Sleep” movie, “I’m sorry sir, I make many mistakes”; I can certainly relate!

Where I went Wrong…

Anyway, what I did wrong was… it still turned out okay, I finished making the 1st daisy wreath correctly, but on the 2nd one, I ink blended the stencils backwards (the set comes with 5 layering stencils) and I didn’t even notice my mistake until I got ready to die cut it, UGHH 🙁

So, in order to use this wreath, I had to take the die and place it behind my wreath image and die cut it. That meant the wreath will point in the opposite direction, but I was determined not to start over!

Plus, my mosaic die cut panels are just little off on both cards, cause I didn’t line them up perfectly before I glued them together. Oh well! Handmade not Hallmark!

So, for the ink colors I used: The purple wreath was “Lavender” (lighter color) and “Regal Bliss” (darker). The blue wreath was “Sapphire” (lighter) and “Stargazer” (darker). For the leaves, I used “Olive” (darker) and “Key Lime” (lighter). On the centers, I only used “Marigold”. To get an ombre blend, I ink blended with a lighter hand and heavier on the edges.

After ink blending, I die cut the wreath again with white cardstock, glued all my wreaths together for dimension and set aside to deal with the card panel.

For the panel, I die cut Pinkfresh’s Modern Mosaic Cover Plate. And, I die cut this a couple of times too and glued them together, then adhered it to my cardbases. And, I didn’t use white cardbases. I used blue and gray. This way the white card panels pop out more.

The sentiment comes from Pinkfresh’s In the Meadow stamp set. I stamped that on blue and white cardstock from my stash and used a circle die from Waffle Flower CraftsAdditional Circles die set to cut that out to place behind the wreath.

Really like how these turned out despite the mistakes, gotta love handmade! Thanks for reading!
