Last Minute Christmas Cards

Last Minute Christmas Cards

No matter how early in the year I make out my Christmas cards list, there’s always 1 or 2 extras that come up last minute. And that’s where I use my go-to method to make them quickly so they can go out!

My secret? Leftover strips of cardstock, a pretty sentiment and some beautiful ribbon! It’s easy and elegant! And, that’s how I made these 2 cards yesterday. I love using Memory Box’s Glitter cardstock and Spellbinders Christmas stamp set from their “Merry Everything” kit from 2019. If you don’t have that kit, any Christmas sentiment will work!

For the card below, I used Concord & 9th‘s candy stripe stamp set along with an extra glitter cardstock for my card panel. I stamped it with Pinkfresh Studio‘s “Berrylicious” ink.

I trimmed this panel to about 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ and another piece of cardstock to give it some dimension.

I white heat embossed my sentiment with Gina K. Designs fine white embossing powder, got a little too much on this card, oops!

The pretty snowflake ribbon I recently purchased off Amazon and for the card on the left, I glued down the center on the back of the panel and wrapped it round to the front and tied the bow. On the card to the right, I simply made a bow and then glued it to the card panel.

Ribbon can really make a card pop especially on a CAS design like these. Also, I used some black cardstock from Lawn Fawn to give the card to the right a border.

With my white Gel pen, I added dots and line details around the circles to give the sentiments a little extra interest. And, that was it for these 2 cards! Easy peasy 🙂
