If you know me well, then you know how much I love flowers! And, anytime I get to use them in my cardmaking, I’m all in! This week, I shared a pic of my recent crafty haul on IG and one of the items that arrived was Honey Bee Stamps “Magnolia” Lovely Layers set. I’ve been collecting as many of these florals as I can. These flowers are just so beautiful!
I couldn’t make just 1 card, I made 3 (but when do I ever just make 1 card?! LOL 😀 )! They came together so fast pairing them with a couple other products → Pink Fresh Studio’s “Stitched Diamonds” Cover Plate and Gold Foil Ephemera Sentiment Pack and my trusty “Herringbone Cover Die” from Sunny Studio Stamps that I dry embossed.
To color my florals, I ink blended the leaves with Distress Inks. I used “Rustic Wilderness” and for added interest, I put more pressure around the edges or sometimes in the center and less in other places. For the centers, I used “Antique Linen”, “Vintage Photo” and “Squeezed Lemonade“. Then, I topped them off with a little Star Dust Stickles for some glitter and shine!
I love how elegant and beautiful these cards turned out! I think these florals can be colored and used in so many ways for many occasions.
I added some coloring to my florals with Copics marker E30. I traced the veins in each flower and it gives them some additional interest as I was trying to keep them white. I also added foam squares behind the last 2 layers for dimension.

My Crafty Haul
Every month, I make a shopping list of items I need or want. I try to be careful as my cart quickly adds up at my favorite crafty companies LOL! I do ask myself a couple of questions before I pull the trigger: (1) Will I use this item more than twice?, and (2) Will this item help me make better cards, fix a problem I’m having or improve my cardmaking process? If I can sincerely answer yes, I typically budget for it and then purchase it.
In the beginning of my journey, I made many purchases for various stamps, stencils, dies, tools, machines and didn’t use them as much as I thought. I ended up donating or de-stashing in giveaways. That’s not good when you’re on a tight income. So, I had to get smarter with my shopping!
This week, I shopped at Scrapbook.com, Ellen Hutson and of course Amazon! I was shopping for Christmas in July, dies and some embellishments. I also needed to clean my stamp set from using Stazon ink so I needed the cleaner for that. As you can see from the picture, I have the Magnolia Lovely layers and the stitched diamond cover plate. I am inspired to try something new, so I needed some spatula knives and I found this really neat set on AZ. I’m looking forward to sharing that in a future post!
