Hi Crafty Friends! I’m so excited to have some new card products in! I recently purchased some goodies from Scrapbook.com and received their “Sweet Scoops” Ice Cream Die set free with my order. It is just the cutest!

So, I thought immediately how I’d make a card but I couldn’t stop there, had to make a gift tag to go with it! In fact all the products today I used are all new to my craft stash! First up, I worked on the card and for that, I die cut the ice cream cone pieces a few times because I wanted dimension.

The die set has the cone and 2 layers of the ice cream along with the decoration for the cone. There’s also a cherry die. I didn’t use the cherry this time.

For coloring my ice cream cones, I decided to use Pinkfresh Studio’s inks. I’ve always liked that their inks comes 4 shades from lightest to darkest. This makes it so easy to do any ink blending.

For my vanilla ice cream cone, I just did a little blending with Simon Says Stamp’s “Smoke” and Pinkfresh’s “Summer Shower”. This gives the ice cream a little more interest rather than just die cutting these 2 pieces with white cardstock alone.

For my chocolate ice cream cone, I used Pinkfresh’s “Warm Buff” (lightest color) and “Doe” (darker color). I added some detail with my white gelly roll #10 pen. I added some clear gems to the vanilla ice cream cone.

For the cone itself, I die cut it on Kraft cardstock 3 times. The decor on the cone was die cut with Lawn Fawn’s “light brown” woodgrain cardstock, it’s just a little lighter shade so it looks really nice together.

For my card panels on both the card and gift tag, I used Paper Rose’s “Embroidery” pattern paper pack. I trimmed it down to 3″ x 4-3/4″ and placed on my card base that has some embossing from my Cuttlebug embossing folder.

The sentiment strips are also new to my stash. I purchased the “Rainbow” pack by Pinkfresh Studio and chose 2 sayings from the pack. Finally, I topped the card with a few more clear gems.

Time for the gift tag

I used the same pattern paper design, I just die cut with Pinkfresh’s “Arch Backdrop” die set. I also die cut 3 more in white cardstock. The ice cream cone on the tag has 4 layers as well. I really wanted dimension! 😀

I added the circle “Happy You Day” from the Pinkfresh rainbow pack, punched the hole and added some ribbon with brown chunky baker’s twine to finish it off. I really love how this project came out.

It was so fun making ice cream cones; reminds me of the ice cream truck that always came to my school when I was a little girl. I would be so excited to see the truck everyday and for $.25 I would always get 1 scoop of chocolate over 1 vanilla scoop on my ice cream cone. Sweet memories! Thanks for reading!
