Birthday Cards with Lawn Fawn's Slimline Hillside Stencils

Hi crafties! I don’t make a lot slimline cards because 90% of my cards are donated and the requirements usually are for A2 size cards. However, that said, it’s nice to make some different size cards once in awhile.

These 2 cards today uses Lawn Fawn’s “Hillside” Stencil set. There are 2 different stencils to the set, check out this post to see how I used the other stencil on two A2-sized cards!

Making Slimline Card Bases

I like to make slimline cards on the larger scale and they fit nicely in a slimline or business size envelope.

My card bases for my 2 cards today measures 4″ x 8-1/2″. To quickly make them, I took a regular size 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of cardstock and trimmed, on the vertical side, to 8″ and then on the horizontal side, trimmed it down to 8-1/2 and the folded it in half at the 4″ mark to make my card bases.

I went for happy colors for my hillside swirls so I used Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated inks in this order: “watermelon”, “sunbeam” and “surf”. I repeated this pattern and then flipped my card panel and did the same coloring.

I used my colored critters from my envelope that I keep all my extras in. They’re from Lawn Fawn’s “Wild Birthday” stamp/die set. I added a little glow with the Copic #B000 around them. The hearts I added from my stash.

I stamped the sentiment “Happy” with Simon’s Intense black ink. This comes from Stampendous “Big Words Happy” stamp set. The secondary sentiment strip is from Taylored Expressions.

If you’re curious how I colored my critters, check out this post!
