Winter Holiday Gift Bags, Boxes + Matching Card

Winter Holiday Gift Bags, Boxes + Matching Card

I absolutely love making gift boxes and bags for the Holidays and for this year’s theme, I’m going with more of a winter look, which is why I called my 2023 Winter Collection.

You can check out my other posts where I made gift boxes from cardstock papers. In this post, I’m sharing gift boxes and a bag made from a collection I picked up at my local thrift store.

Shop Crafty Stuff at Thrift Stores

Thrift stores are great to visit to see what they have in their craft sections because oftentimes you can find really good crafty goodies. I’ve bought items that were gently used and marked down with additional discounts just for being in the store at the right time. If you’re a crafter, you know how expensive our hobby can get.

The paper collection I purchased to make these gift boxes and bag is the “Let it Snow” Gift Box Project Pack by ColorBok. It contains 3 box and 1 bag designs plus a bonus centerpiece. I tried to find this online, but unfortunately I couldn’t. I took a picture just in case you want to search for it maybe in a nearby thrift store in your area.

Apologies…

Some of the products used I could not find anymore and I tried to find comparable items but couldn’t either, so I’ve linked to the items I could find at the bottom of this post. I apologize sincerely for that. Please check out my gift box links above because you can make boxes with just sheets of 12″ x 12″ scrapbook papers. You don’t need specialty dies.

Everything is perforated so you know how to put the boxes together. It also comes with tags and glittery pieces to decorate your boxes. I chose not to use those for this project.

I wanted to use my cardmaking supplies. So, I used ribbons, bows and tag + I did stamping and die cut the huge snowflake from Mama Elephant’s Mega Snowflake Cover die set.

I stamped the Holly Jolly sentiment from Spellbinders with Simon Says Stamp’s “Surf” Pawsitively Saturated Inks for one of my boxes.

And, to go with my boxes, I made a matching card.

For my card, I die cut the frame from that same Mama Elephant die set with white cardstock and the background is a pattern paper by Spellbinders “Christmas Wishes” paper pack.

I splattered the frame and the pattern paper with white acrylic paint that I bought from Dollar Tree! YES! And it worked wonderfully! The sentiment is Pinkfresh’s Christmas Word die set that I die cut with shades of green cardstock from my stash.

I almost forgot to take pictures of another box I made that looks exactly those McDonalds’ apple pie boxes from the old days! I added pretty white snowflake ribbons that I tied into bows. I used an old tag and stamped the “To and From” from Taylored Expressions on the inside of my tag.

I got a lil ink on the inside of my tag but oh well!! I can always make another when I gift this box.

I love that these boxes are very sturdy and you can fill them with whatever you like. I’m thinking of cookies, candies or small treats. These wintery colors are so my jam with the baby blues and light greens. And, I have tons extras for future boxes and bags!
