Sweet Birthday Cards using the "Precious Bears" Mini Stamp Set from The Diary of Belle Rose

Hi my crafty friends! I AM OVER THE MOON EXCITED for this post today! My sweet, sweet friend, Mirisha of The Diary of Belle Rose, just released her 1st Mini Stamp Set for July 2024 called “Precious Bears” and they are sooo cute!

The collection consists of several stamp sets dedicated to Mirisha’s pups! I’m so happy when she reached out to me and asked if I’d be interested in using one of her sets and share my project. Of course I said “YES“! The stamp set for my cards today is called “Precious Molly”. Molly is the middle pup whom Mirisha says is quite vocal and makes her presence known! Too sweet!

Mirisha is a talented crafter of all sorts. I highly recommend following her on social media and her website, I’ll have links to all that below.

I love how Molly was so easy to color even for me who isn’t comfortable coloring. Also, Molly is also easy to fussy cut and I went a lil nuts and die cut and colored her 3 times and yes I fussy cut all of them! I cut one really close to leave only a little white border while leaving a little more on the other two cards. I had so much fun 😀

Also, there’s music notes and plenty of sentiments that you can pair together for just about any occasion. I love the verse from Isaiah 12:5 too. There’s a birthday sentiment and a large “NOTE” that you can use with the other smaller sentiments. This is a stamp set I can see myself using over and over again! For today, I decided to make birthday cards because I have a few birthdays coming up this Summer to send out.

To get started, I stamped Molly on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo black ink. For my coloring, I used my Copic markers: E43 (darkest), E51 and E50. For her ears, I used RV11 and his nose, #100. I like to begin with the darkest color and blend with the lighter and lightest colors. Then, I added some accents to his body with a white gelly roll pen. I also colored lightly her little microphone!

Once I finished, I fussy cut her and placed aside to work on my cardbases. I wanted a colorful pattern on my white cardbases so for that, I went with Simple Stories “Crafty Things” 6×8 paper pack which was a free gift from Scrapbook.com when I purchased the Sweet Petuna Glue Press; (incidentally I love this glue press, I’ll talk about that in a future post). Anyway, I picked out 3 pretty, colorful pattern papers, trimmed them to A2 size then glued them to my cardbases.

For my panels, I decided to add a scallop edging on white cardstock. This brillant idea is from Nichol Sphor. I watched her make three cards on the Simon Says Stamp YT channel and that inspired me, so I looked through my stash and found a scallop die set from Spellbinders that was perfect for my cards. Unfortunately at the time of this post, this die set isn’t available. But, if you have a similar scallop die set in your stash you can use that!

So, I die cut my 3 panels and then used a Cuttlebug embossing folder from my stash to give them some interest rather than just white plain panels.

I also love that in Mirisha’s stamp set, there’s a Mini Inspiration Guide full of beautiful cards of her stamp sets made by several talented cardmakers. You’ll get inspired when you see their cards! So, once my panels were done, I glued them on the cardbases.

On white cardstock, I stamped the sentiments from Mirisha’s stamp set with Simon Says Stamp‘s Intense black ink and their Watermelon Pawsitively Saturated ink.

Now that I had all my elements done, I played around with placement for Molly and the sentiments. And, to add some embellishments to my cards, I used some ephemera stickers from my stash out of a sticker book I’ve had for years. It’s all about birthdays so these paired well with each card. And, I added little hearts to finish off the design.

I LOVE how cute these cards turned out! Check out Mirisha’s stamp set, there’s links to connect to her blog and social media platforms plus other products I used below. Thanks for Reading!
