Scene Building with Hello Bluebird “Carried Away” Stamp Set

Scene Building with Hello Bluebird "Carried Away" Stamp Set

Hey friends! I absolutely love a scene building card, however I stink at making them. That said, I do like coloring critters! For my card in this post I used a stamp set from a new company, at least new to me, Hello Bluebird. I really like the critters in their “Carried Away” set that I purchased it. I learned about them from another cardmaker.

I do enjoy using my Copic markers and so for these critters; the fox I colored with Y18 (lightest color) and Y38 (darkest color), for the bunny, I went with one color, Y11, and I used RV06 for their cheeks. I like to use my darker colors on the edges and work down to the lightest color. For the balloons, I again used RV06 and YG03.

After coloring them, I fussy cut them out, there’s a die set you can purchase separately. For a finished touch, I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the critters and the balloons. I set them aside to dry overnight. Meanwhile I worked on the scene. So I die cut some grass with Simon Says Stamp’s green cardstock and I did some ink blending on it to give it some texture.

I ink blended the background with Simon’s Pawsitively Saturated Ink “Seafoam”. For the clouds, I die cut them on 2 different cardstock papers using a 6-piece set I bought on AZ when I first started making cards. I adhered them to the top of my card and trimmed off the excess.

Once I had all my other pieces together, I built my scene and lastly die cut my sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio on silver metallic cardstock. It’s a simple card design, but I really like it!

On another note, I’m planning to write a blog post, “What Type of Cardmaker Am I?” As I was writing this post, I thought about what kind of cards do I enjoy making and that I succeed at. Scene building cards is definitely not on my list, LOL. I LOVE watching other cardmakers make them and I’ll admire this technique from afar. As for me, I have to decide what type of crafter I am so look for this post in the near future!
