Paper Rosette and a Lot of Dimension for a Card

Paper Rosette and a Lot of Dimension for a Card

Hi Crafty friends! This card really excites me because mainly I had to be creative in order to make it since I don’t have the dies, I’ll explain!

I’ve been following Nichol Sphor for a few years now, she is a gifted and extremely talented cardmaker, cross stitcher and quilter. I get a lot of inspiration from watching her YT videos. Well, I was watching a replay of her last Friday LIVE where she was using die sets to make rosettes ornaments.

You don’t always have to make a card to get inspo!

She didn’t make cards that day and that’s one of the things I love about her creations. She is a cardmaker, but she’s also a paper crafter and you’ll get a lot of variety of projects when you watch her. If you haven’t been following her, I highly recommend you do, you’ll find her channel here.

I got so inspired by her rosettes she made that I wanted to make one too! I had to get creative with this project bc I don’t have the die sets she used. So, I trimmed some cardstock and scored 1/2″ across to fold it into a rosette and I glued it together and pushed down and tightly to the center.

I already die cut a circle; so used my hot glue gun to attach it to the center while holding the flower together.😉 I didn’t make the rosette perfect, it would have looked much better with the die set but I did my best and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I paired it with a heart die that I ink blended and added die cut banners underneath, the love sentiment and a pretty ribbon all from my stash.

For my cardbase, I used some striped pattern paper, used an embossing folder on white cardstock that also cuts out the center. I placed my flower 🌸 and sentiment on top and this pretty card was born! It is larger than an A2 size and it has a lot of dimension so it won’t be getting mailed unless I put it in a box LOL 😂 ! I really enjoyed making this card for Valentine’s Day 🌸! Thanks for Reading!
