Lemon Zest Cards for Summer Vibes

Lemon Zest Cards for Summer Vibes

Hey my friends! Even though Summer is not my favorite season, I’m not ready for the year to end yet either! So, last night when I was thinking of a card design, I saw in my stash, Simon Says Stamp’s “Lemon Zest” die set. I’m not sure I have used this set in a card project before…anyway…

I remember drinking lots of lemonade growing up and how much my mom and I loved it. In Chicago, we had hot summers and that cold ice lemonade was so good!

Love Dimension on my Cards

Dimension just brings these cards to life! And I also die cut my pieces with 120 lb. white cardstock as well as 100 lb., at least twice for the lemons and leaves. Then using foam squares where needed makes the design pop out!

I paired with a stencil for my backgrounds from Paper Rose Studio called “Distressed Brick” and I love that it’s not perfect but again, distressed. For my colors, Simon’s Pawsitively Saturated inks are my choice for ink blending. So for the greens, I went with my go-to’s: “Pearfection” and “Limelicious”; Yellows: “Citrine” and “Lemonade”! LOL! The flowers were die cut with Simon’s cardstock.

For the branch, I went with Pinkfresh Studio’s “Doe” ink. I don’t have any Simon Pawsitively Saturated brown inks, but no matter, I love this brown color and have used it many times!

The sentiment is from a stamp set I bought from AZ. The orange flowers is a die that I don’t know where it came from! I found it at the bottom of my drawer and decided to use it, also I added a little detail with my white gelly roll pen but I’m not happy with that. I feel I need more practice, but still the cards turned out nice and that makes me happy!
