My First Illustration on a Card

My First Illustration on a Card

Hey my friends, so excited for today’s card! The focal point is my illustration that I shared in this post. I finally am using artwork that I altered. The florals and birds in this illustration from from the “Romantic Tea Time” digital collection from Creative Fabrica. Creative Fabrica has a ton of talented artists from all over the world. I like shopping here for original artwork that I can alter to make new art pieces. And oftentimes they have free collections that you can download.

They’re one of the main sites I shop with for original art. Creative market is another wonderful site. I take a collection and pick out elements I want to use like different florals, birds, backgrounds or other pieces to create my own arrangements. Also, it’s fun to mix and match different collections from several artists, much like I do with dies, stamps and stencils on my cards.

My final illustration

Blue & Purple-Roses with bird & butterflies - BellaArt Creatives ~ Kim McDougal Handmade Crafter/Designer

With this piece, I recolored all the flowers as well as the birds and butterflies. When I liked my piece, I printed and trimmed it down to about 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ and paired it with Paper Rose Studio’s “Blooming Proteas” pattern paper. I liked this card so much that I purposefully left off a sentiment to use for occasion.
