Hi my friends, this is my first time sharing an illustration I finished. I’m so proud of it! In case you’re wondering… I’m not a traditional artist. I call myself moreso a layout designer because I’m good at taking an original piece of artwork whether it be clipart, illustration or a photo and manipulating it into a brand new piece.
I’ve been in this industry for more than 30 years and the kind of work I did when I worked in Corporate America. On my own in 1999, I created my own digital art on my website and it’s just for fun. Because I’m a cardmaker, I thought it would be fun to use my own illustrations on future cards. You can find out more of my process here.
For now, I’m sharing this piece that I changed the colors and imagery because I love blue and purple together. Florals with birds are my favorite too! The original images comes from several collections from Creative Fabrica.
I added butterflies cause what floral arrangement doesn’t have them right? Can’t wait to see how this looks on a card! It’s great for any occasion which is one reason I like creating florals even in my cardmaking dies and stencils. I also enjoy taking flower photos, hubby and I have gone out many, many times to take shots of florals in town!
