Hi friends, So, I’ve been wanting a diamond nested die set for awhile and finally I got a set by Pinkfresh Studio. I used the 2 largest sizes in the set to make a diamond border and to use the center diamond that was left over for my 2 cards today.
These cards were so fun to work with! I’ve been loving the Simple Stories Wildflowers Floral Bits pack (check out my last post too here.)
I started with my cardbases: I wanted to use a different color, normally I use white cardstock but today, I used a bluish gray and a light gray. The embossing is a beehive pattern from my stash by Cuttlebug, not sure if it’s available. I got a bunch of their embossing folders from friends years ago.
Next, I die cut my diamonds using the 2 largest sizes in the set. And I used Kraft cardstock, I die cut the diamond twice cause I was going to add double-sided foam tape for dimension. Before I glued the pieces together, I distressed them. For the diamond border, I used Pinkfresh Studio “Licorice” and “Gathered Twigs”. For the center diamond, I used Tim Holtz distressed, “Vintage Photo” and “Black Soot”. The distressing adds so much more interest.
I put my floral clusters together and glued them to my diamonds. I used a combo of foam squares and glue, topped them both with my sentiments from Pinkfresh Studio and these cards were done and I LOVE THEM! Here’s all the pics!
