Easy CAS Cards with Spellbinders Color Block Slices Dies

Easy CAS Cards with Spellbinders Cover Block Dies

I love making CAS (clean and simple) cards cause I don’t have to think much about my design. All I need is a background and sentiment and I’m good to go!

I was taking a break for making Christmas cards so I shopped my stash and found I had extra strips of cardstock left over from die cutting with Spellbinders Color Block Slices Etched dies. I love using strips for backgrounds or other designs. Well, the cardstock is on the blue teal side from Hero Arts and Lawn Fawn.

I was looking to make a few cards since I had a lot of strips. I had enough to make 4 cards in total!

I didn’t want to cover the entire card panel with the strips so I used 3 per card and placed them diagonally from left to right and right to left.

I trimmed all my card panels down to 4″ x 5-1/4″. To create some interest, I added dimension behind the card panels and glued it down to the card bases.

For the sentiments, I immediately thought to use the My Favorite Things “Straight Up Rainbow Dienamics” die set. I only used the cloud die and stamped the sentiments from Hero Arts with Simon Says Stamp “Pawsitively Saturated Inks” in Surf and Ocean colors.

The cloud die also has some dimension too. When making CAS cards, I love to add dimension so that it pops out more rather than a flat card design.

These cards came together in minutes because 90% of it was already done! So, I say take out those strips of cardstock from your stash and make some backgrounds with them!
