“Boho-Abstract”-Inspired Backgrounds for Making Multiple Cards Quickly – Part 3

“Boho-Abstract”-Inspired Backgrounds for Making Multiple Cards Quickly – Part 3

Hey Crafty friends! Today is Part 3 of my “Boho-Abstract” Inspired backgrounds collection that I’ve turned into cards! If you’ve missed Part 1 or Part 2, click here and here to see those cards! NOTE: in Part 1 & 2, I used the direct to paper ink technique, however these cards I used my gel press. The color palette in this post are the same as in those posts.

I have so much fun with my gel press, my inks and brayer to make quick designs for cards. For this collection, I used a different trick I recently learned on a YT video. That is, to color die cuts on the gel press and then add the cardstock panel on top. When you lift the panel, the die cut is not only colored but it leaves behind this opaque shadow behind on the panel which is really cool! I did this on 8 of these cards below!!

Using my Distress inks, I die cut some greenery from Honey Bee Stamps, My Favorite Things and some flowers from my favorite die set from AZ on white cardstock. I added these pieces on my gel press after spreading color. Then, I added my card panels and pressed to get the look I was going for!

When I started putting the cards together, I used those colored die cuts placing them just little offset of the image they left behind.

I wanted this collection to have all encouraging messages and so I shopped my stash to give each card its own sentiment.

I added Baker’s Twine, Doodlebug Chunky twines, Jute and Altenew’s Gold Metallic thread to the cards, some I tied around the panel then adhered it to my card bases while other cards, I made a bow and glued it to the top of the cards.
