Hey my friends! Today, I’m sharing two cards I made with Spellbinders’ January 2022 Small Die of the Month (SDOM) kit. I had a bunch of fun die cutting this heart die called “A Lotta Heart“. It cuts out the center heart but also the pieces around it that builds a frame.
For my first card, I used “Lipstick Red” cardstock from Simon Says Stamp for my card base and ink blended with Simon’s “Blush” Pawsitively Saturated Inks AND Pinkfresh Studio “Strawberry Bliss” color along the left edge to create a vignette around where my sentiments and hearts would be. Not sure if you can see it well in the pictures but believe me in real life, it’s there and very pretty.
I die cut the center heart with white and Simon’s “Schoolhouse Red” cardstock and adhered them directly to the cardbase, then trimmed off the excess.
The SDOM also includes a die that cuts out tiny flowers and so I added some of those on top of my two hearts. The hearts on the left side come from Simon Says Stamp’s “Party Hearts” die. The secondary sentiment strip is from CZ Design. The “Love” sentiment die is an alpha die set by Waffle Flower Crafts called “Retro Outline“. I hadn’t used that set in awhile but I love it and need to use more often.
My second card uses the pieces that builds a frame around the center heart. I die cut the SDOM twice in red and white cardstock. To build dimension, I glued each piece together and then placed on pink cardstock from Cardstock Warehouse. This panel measures 4″ x 5-1/4″.
The scallop frame is from Pinkfresh Studio. I glued that on top of my panel, then adhered it to my red cardbase. Because the red is really bright, I also glued a white cardstock piece inside each card measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ for writing a personal message.
I hot foiled the sentiment with gold foil with Spellbinders Hot Foil Glimmer sentiments plate that I placed in the center along with 2 more white “Party Hearts” from Simon. Really liked how these 2 cards turned out!
