First Card of 2024; Z-Fold Card with Pattern Papers from Paper Rose and Craft Consortium

Happy 2024 Crafty Friends! I hope you had a blessed and joyful Holiday, today I’m posting my first card of the year and it’s a Z-fold card that I was inspired to make by my friend Joy of Create it with Joy! She made an adorable card on her YT channel and you can watch it here. She did some amazing coloring on her card, however for me coloring frustrates me, I’m not good at it!

I turned to my 12 x 12 paper collections. I love anything vintage so using Paper Rose’s “Back Then” paper pack was perfect and I paired it with Craft Consortium’s “Ink Drops “ pattern papers. If you haven’t made a Z-fold card before, it’s very easy. You simply take two A2 sized card bases and glue one side together to make a cohesive 3-panel card. I trimmed a little off each side so it would fold more easily.

Decorate it any way you wish

Z-fold cards are great for creating a scene and you can extend it to all 6 panels or just 3. It’s also great for a scrapbook layout or even to display 3D florals. You can be as creative as you like with type of fun fold card.

My Z-fold card has dimension even with just using pattern papers so I wouldn’t mail it unless I put it in a care box or a bubble mailer. For my card, I trimmed down all my pattern papers to fit each panel and to embellish them, I used some pre-cut florals from the Simple Stories “Wildflower Floral Bits” collection.

You don’t have to adorn the back side of the card if you don’t want to. I wanted to spread the vintage pieces all the way around kinda like a storybook. I love this collection so much! I wanted a border so that’s why I trimmed the vintage papers smaller.

For my sentiments, I reached for Pinkfresh Studio’s “Ephemera Rainbow” pre-cut sentiments. I used a gold for the front panel and a silver for the inside. I didn’t create a space for a personal message, decided to let the 2 sentiments say it all. It’s perfect to sit up on display and I definitely want to make more of these.
