More Arched Shaped Cards

Hi Crafty friends! Happy Fri-yay! Today, I’m sharing two arch-shaped cards, I love making shaped cards, they’re unique and fun! I used the arch nested die set by Ellen Hutson and in this post, I made some really cute gift tags. I had a bunch of leftovers so that’s what I used to make these cards. Be sure to check out this post where I made a beautiful arch-shaped card perfect for a wedding or engagement.

For my 2 cards today, I decided to make 1 a top folded shaped card and the other a traditional side fold. To do that, I die cut my side folded cardbase with the largest size arch in the set with that die hanging off the left edge just a little. This allows that left side of the card not to be cut. And, after running in through my die cutter, I have a shaped arch cardbase.

For the top folded arch card, I started out with a top-folded cardbase. I then placed the arch die a little bit off the top of the cardbase and ran that through my die cutter. Now, it’s a shaped top folded arch cardbase BUT…

I didn’t like that part of the top had to be cut off to make it a shaped cardbase. As I mentioned above, I had a bunch of leftover arch diecuts so I placed 2 more arches on the front and back. Now, that top part of the cardbase is hidden and I have a perfectly top folded arch-shaped cardbase!

I still have a bunch of florals from the Simple Stories Wildflowers Floral Bits pack so I used a few of them to frame my archways. I love the embossed detail on one of the cards and the other I used some pretty pattern paper from my stash to die cut my arches. Since this die set also cuts out borders, I decided to use them for the inside of the archway for interest.

The sentiments all come from Pinkfresh Studio’s Ephemera Rainbow pack. It’s full of all kinds of sayings pre-cut and ready to go on your cards. These 2 cards came together nicely! You’ll notice there’s not too much dimension so they’re perfect to mail.

It’s fun putting together floral arrangements and how and where to place them on my cards. I always go with Press ‘N Seal to pick up my diecuts to glue them and set aside while I work on other aspects of my design. Then, I can take the Press ‘N Seal floral arrangement and place it anywhere on my card without losing any of my pieces.

Really fun cards to make! Thanks for reading!
