Friendship Cards using the Little B Rose Die

Friendship Cards using the Little B Rose Die

Today, I’m sharing 2 friendship cards with a die I’ve had for a couple of years that I never used! It was gifted to me and I love it because, as I look at it, it combines die cutting with an embossed pattern as well.

When I was looking through all my dies, I saw this Rose die from Little B and brought it out and put it through my Gemini Jr. I loved that the rose part die cuts but the bottom has a diagonal embossed look with a section perfect for a sentiment. You may not see it as much in the pictures, but believe me it’s there and it’s really pretty!

I’ve been wanting to also play more with my gel press so I made some quick backgrounds with it using Simon’s Pawsitively and Pinkfresh Studio inks. I paired them with this die and I love the look I got!

Playing with my gel press and inks is a fun way to jumpstart my creativity. I got introduced to it from watching Jennifer McGuire’s YT video from September 2020. You can watch it on YT here. I thought it would be fun and so I bought a large gel press that’s 8″ x 10″ size, it’s perfect for taking a regular sheet of cardstock and creating a bunch of backgrounds. Gel presses are also available in other sizes too.

For my sentiment, I used a couple of Simon’s stamp sets and I’ve linked to them in “Shop this Post” section! For the blue/teal card, I stamped with Simon’s Pawsitively Surf color and the pink/purple card, Pinkfresh Studio bubblegum ink.

The hearts are Simon’s Mini Hearts Party die set that cuts out hearts in different sizes. I used some colored cardstock scraps from my stash for that. The Love & Hugs secondary sentiment was stamped with Simon’s black ink. Added Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the hearts for a little shine.

I didn’t feel these cards needed anything else, just a nice clean and simple design. I love the embossed pattern at the bottom of the cards from the Rose die. It’s perfect to show off the gel press backgrounds!
