Today’s cards were inspired completely by Gina K. Designs YT video. She created this Victorian feel to her card and I had to try it! It is so easy to do and it starts with a Scor-Buddy or any kind of scoreboard tool. I’ve embedded her video below but if it doesn’t play, watch on Youtube here.
I followed Gina’s instructions to to the letter except I used Distress Traditional colors for my cards. After I put in the score marks on my paper and before I added my ink colors however, I needed to stamp an image. I chose of my absolute favorites from Simon Says Stamp called “Beautiful Flowers“. I’ve used this stamp before in this post.
Once that part was done, I did the direct to paper technique but like Gina said, I lightly went up and down on my paper. The colors I used were: “Vintage Photo” and “Tumbled Glass“.
You can really see the stamped image coming through. I trimmed down my brown border to be just slightly larger than my panel and glued it down. Then, I worked on my sentiment.
I die cut the “Sending Smiles” shadow on regular and pearlescent vellum. These cards were easy and came together quickly! I used the heart from the die to dot the ‘i’! I added a little shine to it with Liquid Pearls and then Glossy Accents.
