Birthday Balloons Cards with Circle Dies and Distress Oxide Inks

I really do love inks and although I don’t have many, I do wish I could buy them all! If you’re interested in the ink lines I own and love, read my favs inks here. Anyhoo, my Distress Oxides collection is one that’s growing.

For this card, I decided to break out a few colors that I think work really well together, a circle die and ink blending brushes!

I used Lucky Clover, Salty Ocean, Picked Raspberry and Mustard seed. I die cut several circles in different sizes so I could use them all over my cad base.

I did my ink blending on each circle and set them down to dry. To make the holder for each balloon, I just trimmed a bit of the colored cardstock into a triangle and glued them to back of each circle.

The card bases are Hero Arts “Adriatic” cardstock. I placed my circles all over the card base deciding what direction I wanted and after I was happy, I added foam tape behind each balloon for dimension. I trimmed off any extra cardstock from the edges.

I drew the lines with my Faber-Castel Artist pen. The center circle I stamped the sentiment from Colorado Craft Company’s Big and Bold “Birthday cake” stamp set. I lined the inside of the card with white cardstock for a personal message. Finally, added a few sequins!

I made a couple and really loved how easy these cards came together!
