I made these cards last year and I have to say, they are probably the most extensive work I’ve ever done on a single card design. However, I LOVE, LOVE how these turned out. I started out with alcohol inks on the backgrounds.
The leaf die set from Honey Bee Stamps is wonderful for a stained glass look as it is large enough to be a focal point on the card. It comes with the outline as well as the front of the leaf.
I die cut the outline with silver and gold glitter cardstock. The front of the leaf was die cut on backgrounds that I had done watercoloring on and saved for future use.
I also went all out making these cards 5 x 7 which isn’t typical for me but I loved the alcohol inked backgrounds so much that I couldn’t bear to trim them down to A2 size.
I added dimension behind the leaves and then die cut the “Blessed” sentiment (also from Honey Bee Stamps) with the same glitter cardstock. The secondary sentiment I stamped on plain cardstock and these cards are done!
I even ordered some Euroflap envelopes to match and I really love how good they look together!
