Hi my friends! I am so excited for these 2 cards today, I absolutely love how they turned out. First off, I tried Jennifer McGuire’s technique of making 4 cards in 1 with stenciling and ink blending. I highly recommend watching it here. She goes through the instructions which I followed for the backgrounds of my cards. Today, I’m only sharing 2 of the 4 cards, the other 2 I’ll be sharing in a future post.
To begin, I used Hero Arts “Large Flower” stencil and the inks I colored my flower with were: Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated inks in Surf, Guava, Limelicious and Citrine. After I finished ink blending my stencil over the 4 card panels, I embossed over the design with one of my Cuttlebug embossing folder, “Foulard” by Anna Griffin.
From there, I decided I wanted to make a window opening so I die cut my floral backgrounds with a circle die from Waffle Flower Crafts. And, I placed double-sided foam tape on the back because I wanted dimension! I set these aside to work on the next part which was to create a beach scene that my window would show through. For this, I used Pinkfresh Studio inks; “Doe” for the sand and “Summer Breeze” for the sky.
All I did was tear a piece of paper and used it as my template to ink blend the sky as well as the sand. Then, I trimmed these panels as well as my floral panels to 4″ x 5-1/4″.
I adhered my beach scene panels to my cardbases and then pulled off the double sided foam tape from behind my floral panels and adhered that right on top of my beach scene.
For the elements, again I used images from the Summer 2023 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine. You can find those images here. I fussy cut all my images and played around with placement.
Be sure to check out my Pop-up Box cards post, one I made with other images from the magazine.
